About the Golf

The Golf is a club and ball sport in which the players use various clubs to hit the balls into the series of holes in a few strokes.
The games are playing on a course with an arranged progression of maybe 9 or 18 holes. Each hole must contain a tee box to start from and putting green containing the actual hole or cup.
Other Standard forms of terrain in between like fairway, hazards and rough. But each hole on a course is unique in its particular layout.


The Golf is played with the lowest number of strokes by a person known as strokes player or the lowest score on the most individual holes in a perfect round by an individed or team known as match play.

Golf in India

Golf is a growing sport in India. It is mainly popular among the wealthier classes but has not still caught on with others due to the expenses included in playing

The most successful Indian golfers are Jeev Milkha Singh and Anirban Lahiri.


Milkha Singh won the 3 titles on the European Tour, 4 on the Japan Golf Tour and 6 in Asian Tour. The Highest World Ranking on 28th in March 2009. He won the Asian Tour order of Merit Twice.
Anirban Lahiri has won 2 European Tour and 7 Asian Tour wins. He also Qualified for the 2015 presidents cup.

Aditi Ashok


The Indian professional golfer had already made history after she became the first Indian to win the Lalla Aicha Tour School. Aditi Ashok, born on 29-March-1998 in Bangalore, India.
 The 18-year-old Aditi Ashok is on course to become the sixth Indian woman to win a medal.

Golf, Sujan Shah The Open Championship


Sujan Shah from Sigona Golf Club has won the Kenya Amateur Matchplay Championship 2016. 1up against Denis Saikwa.

Kenya Left Licking Wounds in Mexico

Kenya team of Bo Ciera, Sujan Shah, and Neer Chandaria finished 63rd out of 71 countries in the 30th edition of the World Amateur Golf Championship in Mexico. The performance was worse than during the 2010 championship in Argentina, where the Kenya team led by Davis Njoka and current Kibwezi West MP Patrick Musimba finished 49th. In the 2010 tournament which was reduced to 54 holes due to inclement weather, Kenya’s team of Boniface Simwa, Collins Omondi, and Stefan Andersen shot a total of 466 gross to finish 49th out of 69 countries.

In the year 2016 championship held at Liberosta Playa Paraiso and Mayakoba El Camaleon Golf Clubs in Riviera Maya Mexico, Sujan, who is also the Kenya Amateur Matchplay champion, shot 80, 75, 84 and 81 and the team captain Ciera passed 78, 83, 83, 78. Chandaria fired 81, 80, 82 and 84 for a total of 637. These were poor scores for scratch players who should be as good as the pros.
