One franchise simply is not enough for Vin Diesel these days. Not only is Fast 8 coming out next year, but he is also making his return to one of the franchises that supported to make him famous xXx. Vin Diesel first xXx did quite well at the box office, bringing in a total $277.4 million worldwide from $70 million budget. Despite the success of the first, Vin Diesel did not work for the sequel XXX State of the Union. Alternately, that movie starred Ice Cube as a recruit, Darius Stone. The sequel did not fare quite as well at the box office, to say the least, taking in only $26.8 million domestically and $71 million worldwide. Now more than a decade later, Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson are both coming back.
